This signature needs to contain brief information about your site and a link back to your site. This does two things. 1. It invites readers of your post to look at your site. And 2. It creates links back to your site that the search engines are looking for. This gives your site a more important standing in the sight of the search engines. All this helps to work your way to the first page in the search engines.
3. A very effective way of bringing traffic to your site is through article writing. This is crucial to the success of your internet business. Article writing can help you achieve first page in the search engines. You are also promoting your product in a roundabout way. You will need to have links back to your site in the Bio Box. This is an effective way of promoting your site. Your article may even be taken up by an ezine publisher and distributed to thousands or even hundreds of thousands of readers. This alone can create sales. Your articles may continue to work for you for years to come.

The traffic building strategies discussed here are all free. They do cost, however, in your time and effort but they will all help you to achieve that first sale. And then the sales to follow.

Becoming an affiliate is easy. There are literally thousands of programs for you to join. And they are free.

This is where on of the major problems come in to play. With so many programs available, Which one do you join? How many do you join?

It is very important to do some research. Research can make the difference between success and failure. Here are some of the things you need to ask:

    What’s the competition doing?

    Can you reach your target audience?

    Is the market saturated?

    Does the market want what you’re offering?

You need information that’ll help you develop a unique business proposition that’ll give you a competitive advantage.

You can use ClickBank For some of your market research. You can look for what products are selling. What’s hot and what’s not. Does it fit in with your niche? Does it fit in with the type of customers you have or are looking for.

Don’t just choose a product because it seems to be the popular promotion at the time. Is this a product that you can relate to? So pick a product that appeals to you. This way you can be passionate about it and this will come through in your advertising. If your audience feels your passion for the product it will translate to sales.

Don’t choose too many products. You will only be able to successfully promote 1 – 3 products at a time. Personally I would choose just one to start with. Most affiliate programs offer 40% - 50% commission.

It is too easy to join program after program. It is best to choose one and then stick with it long enough for it to produce fruit. If you go from one to another you are not giving yourself a chance to succeed.

I would recommend in promoting a product, to buy the product yourself, as this puts you in a stronger position to promote the product. Your own website. You are able to Give a review of the product, its strengths and areas where you feel it could be better. People love independent reviews. It also builds trust.

One thing to remember is that you always need to be truthful. Honesty does pay. It builds trust. If you are seen to be an honest marketer people will more readily buy from you.

Build A Subscriber List

Talking about honesty and trust. It is well recognized that you need to be able to promote a product to customers 3 to 7 times before they will buy. This means that it will be good to get potential customers name and email address. How can you ethically do this? Instead of promoting a product to all potential customers you could ask for their name and email address. Here is how you do this. You need to start a newsletter with valuable information that would interest your niche. Where do you get this information? Never betray this trust that they are placing with you. Never spam them with numerous offers. Keep building that business relationship. Make your offers but do so in an interesting way.

Lower Commission?

There are some worth considering that offer a lower commission. These often offer a residual income. This means that you sell the product once and each time the subscription is renewed you get your commission again. Affiliate programs that include hosting service often offer this. Some offer a 2 tier program. This allows you promote the program to other affiliate marketers, who in turn sell the product to others and you receive a commission on their sales as well.

It may appear that one doesn’t really need to have a website to start marketing affiliate products. This is true. Marketing affiliate products without a website may be easy, but being successful in affiliate marketing without a website is another thing.

I would recommend that you have your own website. This will create a lot of advantages in affiliate marketing. It will provide a place where you can creatively promote your affiliate products. With your website you can advertise to a much wider market.

Stick to it.

Keep trying; don’t get disappointed if your first attempts don’t pay off. When you sign up to a program don’t expect to get rich in an instant. Work on you advertising strategies, make adjustments. Look for different ways to promote your product. Most of all be patient. You’ll never know how successful you could be if you don’t persevere.
